Lucero’s Legendary Copper Maiden
Mae was our first cria. How spoiled we are! When people describe fleece as being popcorn like... they're talking about this girl. She is a carbon copy of her mother, complete with grey tips and grey fading into her legs. Her fleece is dense, crimpy, and rich.
She is Misty Maiden through and through. Her crimp is completely consistent from her top knot to her tail. She also has evidence of soft rolling skin with no visible primaries.
Her awards include First Place and Color Champion and the Level V show in Ft. Worth. Blue and purple seem to be her colors. The judge encouraged spectators to get their hands on her fleece. She is spectacular.
Her first show in Topeka was a huge success, especially considering she was the youngest in her class. She took 2nd Place of seven at the Mid-America Alpaca show. The judge commented on her crimp character and consistency. Intimidating competition, to be sure, they were some of the most well known farms.
At her second show in Louisiana she did very well again. 2nd Place! Judges comments included her fine, dese, consistent fleece. And how well it went with her excellent conformation.
At Alpacas of the Ozarks, our little Mae won 1st Place! The judge commented on her nice density, uniform character and balanced frame.

- Lucero's first cria are hitting the show ring and they are making a statement! Judges comment on his cria's fleece having soft handle, brightness and consistency of crimp. Lucero is a very prepotent male passing his wonderful genetics on to his offspring. This male carries the genetics of PPPeruvian Misty Maiden and 4Peruvian Black Magic on his sire's side (Desert Sun) and the Peruvian Drambuie and PPeruvian Leon on his dam's side. He settled his first females at 27 months of age. Lucero has an extremely soft handle and brightness to his fleece. His 2 yr. histogram is 19.3,3.1,16.1,0.6 Many judges have commented on the handle, softness and character of his fleece. His awards from many different judges speak for themselves. Lucero is now wholly owned by Copper Hill Ranch.
