As an added benefit, we retained our agriculture exemption on our property, saving us thousands in property tax. We also saw this as an opportunity for our son to participate in shows by joining FFA. His absences are excused and the alpacas are retained for fiber production and breeding. Many of our herd were paid for through income tax savings.
